Durapak set up its home for three days at row 10 this year at the National Ploughing Championships.
This year the ploughing took place in Ratheniska, Co Laois at its annual time of year, the end of September. The sun was out and record breaking crowds came together from near and far for an exciting and busy few days.

The Durapak stand was buzzing with life as people enquired about the various products, with slatted rubber and cubicle mats taking the award for most popular products.

With the abolition of quotas in 2015 the interest in cubicle mats of all sizes and types was significantly up on other years. Durapaks EVA mats, rubber mats and continuous rubber were all of great interest to the all from the casual passerby and the keenest farmer.
Durapak also has a comprehensive display of its summer range of crop packaging products on display, including Hi-Tac which is the leading brand of agricultural film for big bale silage. Durapak Hi-Tac is up to 2 kilos heavier than other brands on the market and the extra weight is in the thickness of the film. Thicker films provide better oxygen barriers for keeping out air resulting in better preserved forage all the time.

In addition, the economy brand Megawrap was on display as were Durapak Baler Netwrap 3000m and 3600m netwraps for bale silage.
Finally, visitors to the stand were also able to get a look at the array of ancillary products including silobags, Silonets, Duranets for covering silage clamps and bales. As always, the slatted rubber display drew crowds and generated a lot of attention from farmers. While the slatted rubber was shown in place, the graphs beside it showed the results of the Tegasc Beef Trial in which Durapak Slatted Rubber came out on top, with 14kg extra carcass weight over and above concrete slats. A brilliant gain which can result in about €50 extra per year. It also means that Durapak slatted rubber pays for itself in about 2 and a half seasons with Beef bullocks. The updated slatted rubber design, featuring rounded corners, could be seen for all and got many favorable comments.

Durapak was lucky to have many of its great sales and support team on the stand during the three days to talk to interested parties and customers, old and new.

The top man for Durapak, Seamus O' Callaghan, also made an appearance on upcoming television station, Irish TV, showing them around the stand and discussing some of the products.

During the few days, many familiar faces and happy Durapak customers called in for a chat and a cup of tea.

Overall, the show was a great success with lots of laughs and craic that always accompanies the ploughing!
